I recently went down a similar rabbit hole as you, but Notion was my gateway rather than Roam. I spent hours poring over the differences between Notion and Obsidian (and every other note-taking, productivity, and PKM app out there), and I've finally decided that it doesn't have to be one or the other.

Using both Roam and Obsidian would be redundant, but I'm trialing a workflow with both Notion and Obsidian. The idea is to use Notion for my task management, habit tracking, databases, and calendar and Obsidian for my thinking, notetaking, and overall knowledge management.
